We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic AVP / General Manager – Quality & Technical to lead and strengthen the quality and technical functions of our buying house operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in garment construction, fit, quality systems, and production processes across menswear, ladieswear, and kidswear, with a focus on twill and denim fabrics.

This role requires hands-on experience managing 10–15 vendors or factories simultaneously, ensuring consistent product quality, factory compliance, and buyer standards across multiple product categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement end-to-end quality and technical standards across all buying house operations, from raw material approval to finished goods shipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs, quality guidelines, product specifications, and factory compliance standards in line with buyer requirements and local regulations.
  • Oversee fit approvals, sample evaluations, first article, first piece, inline, and final inspections, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Production, IE, Design, and QA teams to achieve quality, fit, cost, efficiency, and compliance targets.
  • Monitor vendor-wise and product-wise quality performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives through defect analysis, preventive measures, and factory compliance audits.
  • Analyze inspection reports, quality data, and defect trends to strengthen product reliability, consistency, and regulatory adherence.
  • Identify critical operations, quality risk areas, and compliance gaps, proactively guiding vendors and internal teams prior to bulk production.
  • Plan and conduct technical, quality, and compliance training programs for internal teams and vendor staff to enhance capabilities, product standards, and factory compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with buyer standards, ethical manufacturing practices, local labor and safety regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality and technical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance awareness.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Garment Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in quality and technical roles within apparel manufacturing and buying house operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an AVP/GM-level role managing multiple vendors/factories for Buying office.
  • Proven expertise in menswear, ladieswear, and kidswear, with experience in twill and denim fabrics.
  • Knowledge of factory compliance, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and productivity improvement practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams across multiple product categories while maintaining compliance standards.
