Social and Economic Enhancement Programme – SEEP
 is a voluntary development organization, founded in 1985, with a vision of building a society for children free from exploitation, discrimination, and violence. Headquartered in Dhaka, SEEP works nationwide to protect children from hazardous conditions, including disasters and emergencies. Currently, SEEP is implementing the project 
"Anticipatory Action for Cyclone & Dengue Resilience in Bangladesh (BGD-1065)"
 in Dhaka North City Corporation, with technical support from Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Bangladesh, to promote early dengue precautions and community awareness.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Intern cum Volunteer will provide vital support to community mobilization, awareness, and emergency response initiatives, while also gaining hands-on learning and professional development opportunities. This role blends practical field engagement with capacity-building, ensuring meaningful contributions to programme delivery and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and conduct awareness sessions and campaigns with community members and in schools.
• Support in conducting baseline and end-line surveys, ensuring accurate data collection and entry.
• Assist in documentation, case studies, and story collection to highlight programme outcomes.
• Provide logistical and administrative support during events, meetings, and trainings.
• Support the Community Mobilization Team in day-to-day activities and outreach efforts.
• Coordinate and shadow team members in engagements with government agencies, humanitarian actors, donors, and other relevant stakeholders, gaining exposure to humanitarian coordination, emergency response and best practices.
• Provide accurate data to the programme team, ensuring effective, timely, and accountable emergency response in accordance with plans and SOPs.
• Support the preparation of reports, briefs, stories, data sheets, and advocacy materials.
• Assist in digital communication and awareness, including drafting content for social media, flyers, and information campaigns.
• Promote community participation across all stages of project implementation.
• Ensure routine documentation of activities (e.g., attendance sheets, event reports, meeting minutes) and assist in keeping records updated.
• Participate in trainings, workshops, and orientations to build personal knowledge and skills in community mobilization, humanitarian response, and public health awareness.
• Support follow-up visits and awareness messaging for dengue patients at high risk, together with trained staff.
• Provide translation and interpretation support between clients and social service providers when required.
• Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Supervisor that contribute to both the intern's learning and project outcomes.

Educational Requirements

HSC passed or a Diploma degree in the same field with an additional 1 year of relevant work experience, is required. (Experience can be flexible)

Additional Requirements

• Experience working in Slums and expertise in local culture will be preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the courage to connect with influential individuals (both local and international).
• Knowledge of project implementation and local laws and regulations is an asset.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks within an environment where many interruptions occur.
• Ability to work with multicultural teams and international professionals.
• Availability and fitness for travel.
• Ability to work under pressure
