Medical Technologist (Eye) - Floating Hospital

Job Description / Responsibility

Responsibilities:

  • Providing treatment at the outdoor eye unit
  • Assist in OT
  • Pre & Post operative care
  • Autoclaving/sterilizing
  • Stock management of the Eye department
  • Reporting

Activities:

  • Meet and greet each and every patient.
  • Provide clinical services by managing and treating eye patients at outdoor.
  • Perform ophthalmic procedures/tests (refraction, IOP, SPT, foreign body removal etc.)
  • Registration of eye patients in the patients' register and entry of diagnosis, history and treatment through the software.
  • Sending a monthly medicine requisition with the help of the Medical Officer.
  • Sending a monthly report to the Medical Officer.
  • Maintenance and autoclaving of instruments and proper maintenance of medicine and equipment.
  • Responsible for arranging eye instruments in the trolley during secondary health camps.
  • Assist the eye surgeon as needed.
  • Provide pre-operative/post-operative care of the patients during the secondary camp.
  • Preparation of requisition for secondary health camp in consultation of Medical Officer and submit to him.
  • Ensure sterilization and fumigation of OT.
  • Maintain a daily departmental quality checklist and preserve it.

Additional Responsibility

  • Maintaining the stock register
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Any work assigned as per advice from the higher authority.
  • Appropriately follow the safeguarding policy and code of conduct of the organization

Educational Requirements

  • Diploma
  • Diploma in Medical Faculty (DMF) from MATS with

Experience Requirements

  • At least 3 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  • NGO

Skill and Competencies

  • Completion of the MLOP certificate course or DOLV from a recognized institution.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in Eye OT, especially during camp.
  • Excellent communication skills and desire to learn.
  • Flexible, highly committed & motivated to work in remote locations, floating hospital and especially in riverine areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge in computer operation specially MS Office and email communication.
