Job Description
We are seeking a Climate Finance and Carbon Market Analyst to support the World Bank as follows:
- Support country engagement on climate finance and carbon markets;
- Assist in reviewing the World Bank Bangladesh portfolio and pipeline, identifying opportunities for accessing carbon finance and earning carbon market credits;
- Serve as a liaison for multi-Practice Group activities, supporting knowledge sharing events, round-tables, etc.;
- Organize meetings and ensure smooth communication with development partners, academia, and other stakeholders in Bangladesh;
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in economics, finance, environmental studies, science, or public planning with a focus on climate finance or climate change;
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in climate change, climate finance, and carbon markets;
- Ability to digest technical content and reframe language to make it accessible to a broader audience;
- Ability to work rapidly and in coordination with various World Bank teams in the South Asia region, as well as with other development partners working on climate finance and carbon markets;
- Fluent English language skills;
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience in another culture (e.g., studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
Benefits
This position offers an International UN Youth Volunteer contract, covering travel, relocation, and UN health insurance costs. A monthly living allowance is also provided. As part of the Talent programme 'Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group', this role is sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Please note that selected candidates will attend mandatory pre-departure training in August. The final departure date will be discussed after selection and depends on several factors.
