The position will be responsible for overseeing sewing operations, ensuring smooth line management, maintaining productivity, and achieving daily production and quality targets. The role requires strong technical knowledge of garment construction, sewing machines, efficiency improvement, and workforce management.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution Assist in developing daily and style-wise sewing production plans. Ensure proper line feeding based on production plans and style requirements. Maintain workflow balance and control WIP for uninterrupted production. Follow up on production output to achieve daily targets. Line Management & Efficiency Improvement Balance sewing lines by allocating skilled operators to suitable operations. Monitor production bottlenecks and take corrective action to enhance productivity. Work with the IE team to improve line layout, SMV optimisation, and overall efficiency. Ensure timely style changeover with minimum downtime. Quality Assurance & Process Control Ensure that sewn garments meet buyers’ quality standards and specifications. Work closely with the QA department to minimise defects and reduce DHU percentage. Implement proper sewing techniques and maintain SOP compliance for each operation. Technical Support Provide technical guidance on sewing methods, machine settings, and attachments. Support sample trials, pilot runs, and pre-production activities. Identify technical risks and take preventive actions before bulk production. Workforce Management Supervise line chiefs, supervisors, operators, and helpers. Maintain discipline, motivation, and skill development among operators. Identify training needs and coordinate with training centres to upskill workers. Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily production reports on output, line efficiency, absenteeism, and DHU. Communicate delays, production challenges, and improvement plans to management.
