Position Overview

PalmPay Bangladesh is seeking an experienced Senior SQA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our fintech platforms, payment systems, and channel integrations. This role focuses on API automation, payment & POS testing, and production issue monitoring in a high-volume, transaction-critical environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPayment & Channel Integration Testing

• Lead testing efforts for payment channel integrations, routing logic, and multi-channel transaction flows.

• Conduct interface and functional testing by setting up mock servers/platforms to simulate external partner systems.

• Ensure payment and channel integrations meet product requirements with high quality and speed.

Test Planning & Execution

• Own end-to-end project testing activities: test planning, execution, tracking, defect verification, and release support.

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, API tests, and integration tests for payment systems.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, including POS (Point of Sale) systems.

Automation & Technical Testing

• Develop and maintain API automation tests using Postman.

• Perform SQL-based data validation and database testing.

• Validate encryption, decryption, and hashing logic used in transaction and security flows.

• Work with Java / Java EE applications across the SDLC, with strong focus on testing and integration.

Production Support & Issue Management

• Monitor and investigate production ("online") issues, identify root causes, follow up on fixes, and verify resolutions.

• Proactively work to prevent recurrence of production issues through improved test coverage and processes.

• Track defects using defect management tools and ensure timely closure.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Collaborate closely with local development and technical teams to enhance testing tools, frameworks, and efficiency.

• Promote standardized testing and SDLC best practices across projects and teams.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 8583, EMV, and PCI DSS, especially for POS and payment systems.

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java.

• Hands-on experience with API testing and automation using Postman.

• Strong SQL querying and database testing skills.

• Solid understanding of encryption, decryption, and hashing mechanisms.

• Experience testing payment systems, fintech platforms, and POS systems.

• Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools.

• Experience with mock servers, simulators, and log services.

• Strong defect tracking and test management experience.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ownership mindset with ability to manage testing independently.

• Good communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-critical fintech environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-volume transaction systems.

• Knowledge of payment ecosystems, acquiring/issuing flows, and channel integrations.

• Experience working with mock servers and simulators for partner integrations.

• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in software testing / SDET roles, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services.
