Pattern Master, Apparel

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Interpret design sketches, tech packs, and blueprints to develop accurate, production-ready patterns.
  • Create, modify, grade, and finalize patterns using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., Lectra, Optitex, Tukatek) and manual methods
  • Collaborate closely with designers, merchandisers, and sample makers to resolve fit issues and ensure design integrity.
  • Develop marker layouts for efficient fabric utilization and cost reduction.
  • Ensure proper fit, balance, and construction for all styles
  • Resolve fit and pattern-related issues during sampling and bulk stages
  • Provide technical documentation, sewing instructions, and pattern specifications.
  • Reworks must be minimized & Quality must be followed.
  • Supervise tailor/sample room activities, ensuring quality and adherence to patterns.
  • Coordinate with Planning, QA, Maintenance and PD to avoid any inconvenience on the production floor.
  • Line monitoring and minimize the bottleneck & ensure on time delivery.
  • Ensure housekeeping, line discipline, manpower utilization, production materials, attendance etc.
  • Maintain pattern documentation and version control.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends in pattern making.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • The incumbent is required to have a 4 bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Pattern Making, or a related field from a public, private, or overseas university.

Experience Requirements

  • 5 to 8 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Wholesale, Garments

Additional Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of woven / knit / denim pattern making (as applicable)
  • Proficiency in manual and/or CAD pattern making systems(Lectra, Optitex, Tukatek etc.)
  • Good understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques.
  • Ability to interpret buyer tech packs and communicate with merchandising & sampling teams.
