We are seeking a TC/Vessel Executive to oversee vessel operations on the ground, work closely with local stakeholders, and support the shipping team based in Singapor

Job Overview:

As a TC/Vessel Executive, you will be responsible for monitoring vessel operations at Chittagong port, liaising with agents and receivers to ensure efficient cargo discharge, and reporting daily operational updates to the central shipping team. This role demands hands-on involvement, strong communication skills, and the ability to resolve operational issues quickly to avoid delays or claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Monitoring:
    Oversee operations for time chartered vessels at Chittagong port, ensuring efficient turnaround.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    Collaborate with port agents, receivers, and surveyors to facilitate timely and effective cargo discharge.
  • Cargo Operations
    : Handle discharge of bulk cargoes including wheat, corn, pulses, barley, beans, SBM, and sugar.
  • Daily Reporting:
    Provide timely operational updates and detailed ground reports to the Shipping team in Singapore.
  • Vessel Visits
    : Conduct frequent onboard visits to ensure discharge progress is smooth and in line with charter party terms.
  • Claim Prevention
    : Ensure accurate discharge to minimize risks of cargo shortages or claims.
  • Issue Resolution
    : Coordinate promptly with agents, owners, P&I clubs, and receivers on any claims related to shortages, damages, or operational delays; facilitate swift action for vessel clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    Minimum 1–2 years of experience in port or vessel operations, preferably in bulk cargo handling.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Familiar with shipping operations, time charter terms, and logistics processes at ports.
  • Location
    : Must be currently based in or willing to work in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
  • Communication:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali for effective coordination with local and international stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving:
    Ability to handle operational challenges efficiently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Competent in monitoring cargo discharge volumes to prevent shortages or disputes.
  • Technical Skills:
    Proficient in MS Office; vessel operation or maritime reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Mobility:
    Willingness to travel frequently to vessels and terminals as required by operational needs.
