The World Food Programme (WFP) in Bangladesh is leading the coordination the UN system's support for the "Early Warnings for All" (EW4ALL) initiative, a global goal to ensure everyone is protected by early warning systems by 2027. Bangladesh is one of the first 30 countries to roll out this ambitious initiative, which involves coordinating with government, UN agencies, and other partners to strengthen disaster preparedness.
The WFP Volunteer will provide support to the EW4ALL and AA in the coordination, research, documentation, and communication of activities related to the EW4ALL initiative and Anticipatory Action. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in disaster risk reduction, international development, and multi-stakeholder coordination within a UN agency, Government and Others non govt, agencies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The volunteer will assist the RI Unit focusing to support EW4ALL and AA with the following tasks:

Research, Documentation & Communication Support:

• Assist for organizing workshop, conference and meetings and preparing report draft reports for documentation.
• Assist for writing case study/ success story on EW4All/ AA or others relevant activities under RI unit.
• Assist in collecting and organizing information for reports, gap analyses, and the national EW4ALL roadmap and AA.
• Help maintain a database of key stakeholders, partners, and ongoing EW4All and AA project/ initiatives.
• Support the development of presentations, briefing notes, and meeting minutes.
• Help organize and logistically support workshops, meetings, and training sessions.
• Contribute to the creation of simple communication materials (e.g., social media content, newsletter updates) to raise awareness about EW4ALL.

Technical & Programmatic Support:

Provide logistical and administrative support for simulation exercises and field visits as needed.
