OHARU is a nonprofit initiative on a mission to build thriving living communities for underprivileged children of ethnic minorities in rural Bangladesh. Our programs emphasize academic enrichment, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, creative expression, and community-building to help children thrive.
Role Summary
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations of OHARU's work in Cox's Bazar. The role requires strong organizational skills, hands-on management, and the ability to work closely with students, teachers, local staff, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Oversee daily activities of the pilot program, including academic classes, enrichment sessions, and community-building activities.
- Support tutors, supervisors, and other staff to ensure smooth execution of the curriculum and extracurricular programs.
- Monitor student attendance, performance, and well-being, reporting updates to management.
Operations & Logistics
- Coordinate student accommodation needs (hostel facilities, meals, safety, hygiene).
- Assist in recruitment and supervision of support staff (cooks, caretakers, tutors).
- Maintain petty cash records, ensure transparency of expenses, and submit reports to Operations Manager.
- Liaise with local suppliers, landlords, and service providers.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with parents, schools, and community leaders.
- Act as a point of contact between OHARU, local authorities, and other NGOs when required.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Keep accurate documentation of program activities, incidents, and student progress.
- Provide weekly updates and monthly summary reports to CEO
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience in program coordination, community work, or NGO fieldwork (2–3 years preferred).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Bangla and English.
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to child development.
- Willingness to be based in Cox's Bazar and travel locally as needed.
Compensation
- Salary: BDT 18,000–20,000/month
