Management Trainee Officer – Product Development (Merchandising)

Job Summary:

The Management Trainee Officer (Product Development – Merchandising) will assist in coordinating and executing the product development process from concept to sample approval. The role involves close communication with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely development, cost efficiency, and product quality. This position provides hands-on learning and career growth opportunities in apparel merchandising and product management.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development Support

Assist in the development of new styles as per buyer requirements and seasonal trends.

Coordinate with the design and technical teams for sample creation and revisions.

Ensure correct fabric, trims, and accessories are sourced according to buyer specifications.

Communication & Coordination

Communicate daily with suppliers, factories, and buyers to follow up on product status.

Prepare and share product development updates and status reports with seniors.

Support the senior merchandiser in order coordination and data management.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain product files, sample logs, and development trackers.

Assist in preparing buyer presentations and internal development reports.

Learning & Growth

Gain knowledge of the full merchandising and production process.

Learn about fabric behavior, garment construction, and quality parameters.

Participate in meetings, training, and factory visits to understand operations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Basic understanding of fabrics, trims, and garment construction.

Good analytical and problem-solving ability.

Time management and ability to work under pressure.

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and email communication.

Eagerness to learn and grow in the merchandising field.

Educational Qualification:

B.Sc. in Textile Engineering / Apparel Merchandising

Experience:

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Internship or project experience in merchandising/product development will be an advantage.
