DevOps Engineer – AWS & Automation Focused

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team part-time and help drive infrastructure excellence, cloud automation, and secure deployments. This role is ideal for someone passionate about scalability, zero-downtime strategies, and fostering a DevOps-first culture across cross-functional teams.

You'll be working closely with developers, QA engineer, and operations leads to implement best practices in CI/CD, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code, all while supporting our growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Deployment

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, Auto Scaling, CloudFront, CloudWatch).
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable software delivery.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Ansible or equivalent IaC tools.
• Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling updates.

Monitoring & Optimization

• Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus to ensure zero-downtime.
• Continuously optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency.

Collaboration & Culture

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to foster a DevOps culture.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to shared learning.
• Support DevOps workflows including incident response, rollback strategies, and deployment hygiene.

Security

• Implement security best practices across development and operations environments.
• Promote secure-by-design principles in infrastructure and deployment processes.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering, supported by a relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across development and operations teams.
• Demonstrates strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement by actively embracing new technologies and techniques that reduce build costs and enhance client outcomes.
• Prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and projects.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for pixel-perfect execution.

Mandatory Technical Stack

• Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2, Auto Scaling, CloudFront, CloudWatch, S3, VPC)
• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes
• Configuration Management & IaC: Ansible (Terraform, CloudFormation as equivalents)
• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions (or similar)
• Monitoring & Logging: AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus
• Scripting Languages: Bash, Python (or similar)
• Version Control: Git, GitHub
