Position Summary:

JAGO NARI
is a non-government development organization in the central coastal region of Bangladesh. The main focusing area of work is women's empowerment, Climate Change Adaptation, Health & Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Education. At present JAGO NARI is implementing different type of Projects with the support of the multi-donor and technical partners.

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes across all projects and microcredit Branches. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards while promoting operational efficiency and transparency.

Job Description/Responsibility:

  • Conduct regular audits of financial, operational, and compliance activities across development projects and microcredit branches.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Review financial statements, accounting records, and transaction documentation for accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor adherence to donor guidelines, government regulations, and internal policies.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
  • Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and branch staff to understand workflows and identify risk areas.
  • Assist in fraud detection and investigation when necessary.
  • Provide advisory support to management on risk mitigation and process enhancement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all audit activities.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Accounting or professional certification like CIA, CISA, or CA preferred).

Experience Requirements

  • 3 to 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  • NGO

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably in NGO or microfinance sector.
  • Women are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, audit standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and microcredit branches as needed.
