The USAID’s Alliance for Combating TB in Bangladesh projectis working to establish a dynamic, strategic, and fresh approach to accelerate Bangladesh’s fight against TB. The solutions will be aimed at creating an environment aligned with the universal health coverage (UHC) vision and focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, decentralized DR-TB management, improving detection and management of child TB, expanded prevention, and others.

The Administrative Assistant will report to the Coordination Manager. The position holder will be responsible for providing administrative-related support to the Senior Administrative Officer as well as other project staff. S/he will be involved in–

  • Keep track record for budget-wise expenditures;
  • Maintain petty cash/revolving fund and required advance;
  • Prepare different memos and correspondence letters;
  • Organize meetings involving national and international stakeholders,
  • take notes and prepare minutes of the meeting;
  • Maintain efficiently all the financial and HR records;
  • Understand the requirements in advance (timelines, resources, people etc.) of the project team including field site;
  • Check the existing inventory of furniture and fixtures required (asset management);
  • Coordinate with the procurement department for the allocation or purchasing of resources;
  • Coordinate with internal contacts for logistic requirements;
  • Coordinate with the IT department to solve any internal IT related issues;
  • Process stock item requisition, transport requisition;
  • Process expenditure bills and vouchers for reimbursement;
  • Track the accuracy and closure of internal requisitions:
  • Maintain information, budget, and correspondences on the shared drive of the program or research activity team;
  • Follow up of financial recommendations, administrative management of audit;
  • Collation and management of information as required by Office Manager and others like preparing various reports to finance, HR and RA etc, including preparation of presentations, edit documents and check accuracy of information;
  • Perform other administrative and functional tasks as directed by the supervisor and other senior project staff.


Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor in any discipline; Bachelor in Commerce or Business Administration (BBA) or a Masters degree with good academic records will be preferred;
  • 3 years of experience in the administration domain preferably in an international organization.

Contract Type and duration:

Fixed Term Agreement; duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.


Salary & benefits:

  • Annual Tk. 521,070/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits;
  • 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
